Lucinda Mallory was buried in her family graveyard in 1891, yet her final resting place remains a mystery. Learn how modern technology can help find her unmarked grave and bring Lucinda’s story to light.

When I first visited Mallory Cemetery in the summer of 2020, it was hard to tell it was a cemetery, aside from the sign. Six years after my first visit to the overgrown burial ground, Mallory Cemetery has institutional backing behind it.

Every year, thousands of families stream through the gates of the Williamson County Fair in Franklin, Tennessee. It started more than 170 years ago, with a small circle of local farmers and businessmen, one of whom is buried at Mallory Cemetery.

This tree likely stood at the time the Mallorys buried their loved ones here over 150 years ago. It stood as a testament to the landscape where the Mallorys built their home and a testament to the farms and development that came after.
